I suffered a traumatic knee injury in 1970, and underwent surgery to remove the all of the cartilage. Repair of the torn tendons was not attempted. Since then I have developed degenerative disc disease. 2.5 years ago ( Feb 14, 2008) I underwent surgery to fuse my lower spine and replace 1 disc. The VA refuses to give service connected status for my back. Are low back problems attributable to knee injuries? If so , how should I proceed? Thank you for your kind consideration.
